RESERVING YOUR DATE
I recommend contacting me as soon as you have made the decision that you want professional makeup artistry for your event. Most wedding planning guidelines suggest booking your makeup artist a minimum of 6 months before the day of the wedding. Once availability has been confirmed, a consultation will be arranged in order to finalize booking your date.
- A signed contract along with a $100 cash deposit is required for all wedding bookings. No date can be held or guaranteed without a signed contract and deposit. The deposit will be deducted from the total cost of services on the day of the event.
- A travel fee may be required for services performed at locations outside of Dutchess County, NY, including any applicable tolls, train or airfare, and hotel expenditures. If applicable, the total travel fee will be discussed during the client consultation and itemized in the signed makeup service contract.
RESERVING YOUR TIME
Makeup artists book clients just like a salon; some days an artist may have two wedding parties or multiple events to attend. When this occurs, a window of time is scheduled in between events so they do not conflict. Multiple bookings are only scheduled if the requested times are different. The lead artist will customize a makeup contract that designates precisely what time an artist will be available to provide makeup services for your specific event.
PRODUCTS
I use a variety of products including MAC, Chanel, Bare Minerals, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, Stila, Make Up For Ever, Temptu, NARS, Smashbox, Urban Decay, and Dior, as well as other professional brands that are formulated for theater, HD film and TV.
AIRBRUSH MAKEUP
Airbrush makeup is the application of choice for film/television and red carpet events for a reason: it provides full coverage while maintaining a sheer texture. First used for films in the 1920’s, airbrush makeup has become the standard for digital photography and High Definition Television.
Airbrush foundation looks so much smoother than traditional foundation because it is applied with a fine mist of air that minimizes the appearance of skin texture and pores, rather than being pushed onto the skin and into the pores like traditional foundation.
While there are many different types of airbrush products on the market today, artistic technique makes all the difference in the quality of your final result. A professional-level airbrush makeup application disperses high-opacity coverage as sheerly and evenly as possible, creating full coverage that will still feel incredibly light in texture. The spray dot patterns created by the airbrush registers less on camera than the patters and trace lines that brushes, sponges, or even fingers leave behind. However invisible these marks may appear to the naked eye, they can be quite noticeable when a client’s face is shown in Digital Media, High Definition close-up or in a High Resolution Digital Photo. While other advantages include speed of application, longevity, and durability, the true advantage of airbrush makeup is the beautiful finished result it produces.
FALSE LASHES
False lashes are essential to enhancing the eyes and completing a look. I use strip lashes & individual lashes depending on each client’s eye shape and desired final look. Individual Lashes are extremely comfortable and long lasting. Strip Lashes are great for adding extra drama to the eye; they can take a few minutes to adjust to if you’ve never worn them before. Both types are applied with a professionally formulated adhesive that is safe use in the eye area (including contact lens wearers).
LARGE WEDDING PARTIES or GROUPS
I can accommodate as many people as you have in your party. I am personally available for parties of up to six people and if you have a larger bridal party or group, another trained artist will be booked to expedite applications.
HAIRSTYLING
Although Denise does not style hair, she can recommend exceptional onsite hair styling services provided by licensed professional stylists on request.
